Participation is open to CyberC and Big Data attendees only. You may participate individually or as part of a team. Two awards will be given out: 1) winning student or student team; 2) winning professional or professional team. A judging panel of practitioners will evaluate presentations. An award is $500 and $1000 for each.
Prof. Yegin Genc from IEEE Bit Data Initiative is the chair to host the IEEE Big Data Competition. He is an Assistant Professor at Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems at Pace University. He received his Ph.D. in Information Management from Howe Business School at Stevens Institute of Technology in 2014. His research draws from exploratory search, information retrieval, and text analysis with a particular focus on semantic transforms with collaborative knowledge bases such as Wikipedia. Previously, he was the Director of Professional Services at Interneer Inc. He holds an M.Sc. in Information Technology from University of Central Missouri and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University.
